As of my last update in September 2021, "Grand Theft Auto IV" (GTA IV) is an open-world action-adventure video game developed by Rockstar North and published by Rockstar Games. It was released in April 2008 for various platforms, including PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC. Please note that there might have been updates or re-releases of the game beyond my knowledge cutoff date.

Set in the fictional city of Liberty City, which is heavily inspired by New York City, GTA IV follows the story of Niko Bellic, an Eastern European war veteran who comes to Liberty City in search of the American Dream. Upon arriving, Niko becomes entangled in the criminal underworld, working for various crime bosses and engaging in illegal activities to make a living and survive in the city.

The game features a vast open-world environment that players can freely explore. Players can interact with various characters, take on missions, and engage in a variety of activities, including driving vehicles, shooting, and combat. The game also includes a multiplayer mode, allowing players to join together and participate in various online activities and game modes.

GTA IV received critical acclaim for its compelling storyline, well-developed characters, realistic open-world setting, and impressive attention to detail. It was praised for its immersive gameplay and continued the tradition of pushing the boundaries of open-world gaming that the Grand Theft Auto series is known for.
